Collector's Notes

Jaeger-LeCoultre built the original Geophysic in 1958 for the scientists of the International Geophysical Year, and this re-edition, limited to 800 pieces, revives that clean chronometer look in a 39mm steel case. The white dial mixes applied Arabic numerals and baton markers with luminous dots on the inner ring, spare and legible in the way mid-century tool watches were. The solid caseback is engraved with the Geophysic globe. Collectors drawn to the quieter corners of the Jaeger-LeCoultre catalog appreciate the history packed into this one. It runs the automatic Calibre 898/1 with a 43-hour reserve and seals to 100m, on a leather strap. It comes complete with box and papers.
