Audemars Piguet Offshore Diver 15720ST

In 2021, Audemars Piguet released three 42mm Royal Oak Offshore Divers in stainless steel. The “ROO” Diver 15720ST is offered in “Navy blue,” “Trailblazing Khaki,” or “Pristine grey” with interchangeable rubber straps. The 15720ST has AP’s newest 4308-caliber movement, providing a 60-hour power reserve. The “ROO” Diver is a sportier watch in comparison to other Royal Oak watches due to its “Mega Tapestry” dial creating a more dimensional look. Further differences include a pusher at the ten o’clock position which is a screw-down crown that controls the rotating bezel under the sapphire crystal. The “ROO” Diver offers as much performance as it does panache.

A few style tweaks to the 15720ST reference include AP’s new quick-release system, enabling the wearer to easily change the strap. Additionally, the buckle has a release on the edge so the wearer can also remove the buckle from the strap. Changes to the dial include pink gold applied hour markers and royal oak hands. The hands are also dipped in the luminescent coating, which allows enhanced readability at night or underwater. A gold AP signature is found at the center of the dial as opposed to its previous brand name fully spelled out. The black rotating inner bezel is highlighted from zone 60 to 15 in beige. The watch continues to offer water resistance up to 300 meters.

The signature finishes on the watch include a date quick-set system, a magnified date window, and a hacking seconds hand. The “ROO” Diver has become a fan favorite among the collecting community and tends me be a more commonly worn watch by athletes. The 15720ST spares no expense on its finishes, it's composed of a perfect balance of satin and highly polished surfaces. The “Trailblazing Khaki” model was AP's color of the year. The watch pictured above is a brand-new 2022 model that wears comfortably.
